Meet Kerry

I became immersed in folk music over thirty years ago in Nottingham where I sang and played tin whistle and spoons in a couple of folk bands.
My background is in education and horticulture – and has included teaching in primary schools in UK and overseas as class teacher and music specialist and setting up school gardens.
A few years ago, I became increasingly concerned about well-being and recognised how important it was to find a space in which to unwind and reconnect with one-self. As a result, I re-trained as a mindfulness facilitator for adults and children.
My passion for music and my awareness of the power of the breath through mindfulness practice has been integral to my own well-being through the ups and downs that life has thrown at me, and I firmly believe that a daily dose of both is an essential ingredient for everyone’s well-being.
I now wish to invite others to come together and share this passion and belief in singing and wellbeing with the Birch Tree Folk Choir in Cobham, Surrey.
